How pickup actually works at the airport

We don’t run a counter inside the terminal — instead we meet you in person at the arrivals area or bring the car to the pickup zone outside, depending on how busy the airport is. You give us your flight number when booking, we track it, and we time the car to your actual landing rather than the printed schedule, so a delay isn’t your problem.

On the spot, it’s a quick document check (passport, licence, and an International Driving Permit if your country needs one — covered in our article on licence rules), signing the rental agreement, and a walk-around of the car to log any existing marks so there’s no argument at return. The whole thing usually takes 10 to 15 minutes and you’re on the road straight after.

Why the terminal counter isn’t always the better option

Counters for the big international brands at HKT tend to have long queues during peak arrival windows, when flights from Russia, China and Europe often land close together. On top of that, an airport surcharge is usually added to the rate, which doesn’t apply when you’re met outside the terminal. Meeting outside is quicker and comes without that extra fee.

Which car makes sense straight off a long flight
